Unfortunately, my spin class at Germantown Methodist was cancelled today. Tiffany had a conflict and couldn’t find a sub so Lauren suggested we try Pure Barre again.
I have tried that off and on over the last year but I’ve never been able to get into it. It is hard. Really hard.
It is an isometric exercise that focuses on all the problem areas women have; arms, abs, hips, thighs, seat, you get the idea.
What make it so hard is that you really have to focus on each movement because its a very small but effective motion.
The class was packed and I was grateful Lauren saved me a place. There are women of all ages and sizes there so I didn’t feel out of place. And besides, no one is looking at anyone one else during this class. It is all you can do just to keep up with what you are doing. There’s no time to check out others.
I felt good after class, better than I ever have before so I think I will put this into my rotation. I think it will take Zumba’s place.
So, after my sick day I’m back on track. If you’ve noticed my little ticker from MyFitnessPal over on the side of the blog hasn’t moved, don’t worry. I haven’t weighed in this week yet. I’m looking forward to what Sunday’s weigh in has to say!
I love group exercise, and the class you did sounds really interesting!!! I haven’t tried that one as I mainly do Les Mills classes, hav you tried them?, but I am keen to look into it!. Great idea doing exercise liek you are every day
I’ve not heard of that class but I’ll check it out and see if its offered in Memphis. I’ll try almost anything once! Thanks for the encouragement.
